The last eighteen months have seen Amadeus gearing up to transform possibilities for the global hospitality industry.
We have brought together a complete solutions and consulting offer for hotels, encompassing everything you need from better managing the guest experience to being more competitive and optimising revenue.
A key development was the integration of Optims – a leader for over 20 years in the development of Property Management Systems (PMS), Central Reservation Systems (CRS) and Revenue Management Systems (RMS).
A long standing Amadeus partner, Optims brought unrivalled expertise and an entrepreneurial culture that matches the ambitions of our customers.
Today, Amadeus has around 400 people dedicated to servicing the full spectrum of hotels, from individual properties to representation companies and multinational chains.
We are the hospitality solutions leader in Europe – and we are gearing up our operations in the Americas and Asia Pacific. In this newsletter, you´ll hear more about the team of specialists in North America, committed to delivering the benefits of IT and distribution convergence.
As well as unrivalled development and distribution capacities, we can draw upon the global network of Amadeus offices: a local presence that gives us insights into the needs of hotels in over 200 countries. As RMS and PMS become mission-critical across every hotel property, we know that you want local support.
Plus, we can also give you the processing and hosting resources of the world’s largest secure civilian data centre.

Taking a long hard look at the global hospitality industry, we see an IT environment that has grown in all kinds of directions and become more and more complex. We see interfaces and systems proliferate. We see new channels, enabled by the Web, adding to complexity. And we see a dynamic industry, constantly re-forming to meet the needs of demanding guests. Refining its offerings and becoming increasingly sophisticated in how it targets different customer segments; for example, through the creation of niche brands.
When we look at the global hotel industry we see a vast opportunity – an opportunity to free hoteliers from complexity and give them the solutions they need to focus all their energies on delivering great guest experiences.
Our vision for the hotel industry sees a new streamlined IT and distribution environment – with as much as possible integrated. An environment where hotels have a fully-formed and up-to-the-minute single view of their inventory. An environment where hotels can make use of all the distribution channels available to them today and tomorrow.
Our vision is for an environment where hotels are always ready to sell that very last remaining room – and sell it for the optimum yield and to the guests they value most.
A single platform
As the unified complete solutions provider for the hospitality industry, we are now making our vision a reality.
We are building an integrated platform that will give hotels a single view of their inventory and the ability to manage it – and the guest experience – end to end. Whatever the size of your business, we will have a solution designed to fit your needs.
In 2007, we will begin rolling out the first deliverables of this programme. The new content server will simplify multi-channel management and content propagation.
We will re-engineer our core hotels distribution platform, to make it more responsive. Built on open industry-standard XML architecture, we can accelerate the development of new solutions and give hoteliers faster time to market.
While we will focus on developing our revolutionary integrated platform, we will continue to offer hotels standalone solutions. If you want just RMS or PMS, no problem. We will deliver. But if you want a fully integrated solution we will be there too.
Looking forward to the future
The last eighteen months have been exhilarating – and tough! Building up a world class IT services partner for the hospitality industry is hard work – and I want to pay tribute to everyone at Amadeus who has made this possible.
Now, we have got the right team in place and we are ready to deliver our vision for hotels. This is the beginning of an exciting journey – and all of us at the Amadeus hope that you will join us for that journey.
